Serious road crash on the A7 at Teindside Bridge
Road policing officers are appealing for information after a serious crash on the A7, approximately six miles south of Hawick on Sunday, 9 March, 2025.
Around 4.30pm, a 28-year-old man was riding his Yahama R6 bike southbound with two other motorcyclists, when it appears that the bike has lost control at Teindside Bridge.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where hospital staff describe his condition as critical.
The road was closed and reopened around 10.30pm.
Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our investigation to establish the cause of the crash is ongoing and I urge anyone who witnessed it take place to contact us.
“If you were driving on this road around the time and have any information or dash-cam footage that may assist, please get in touch.
“Information should be passed to Police Scotland through 101 quoting reference number 2383 of 9 March.”
