Appeal for information following assault and robbery in Greenock
Officers are appealing for information following an assault and robbery in a lane in Greenock.
The incident happened between 6pm and 6.30pm on Sunday, 16 March, 2025 between Rose Street and Rankin Street.
A 36-year-old woman and was approached and assaulted. She attended hospital for treatment and was later released.
A 17-year-old male youth was robbed and a mobile phone taken.
Three suspects were seen in the area at the time. One man was wearing a black tracksuit and bottoms and a baseball cap. A second man was wearing a green and white football top. The third man was wearing a black tracksuit top and bottoms.
Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “This was a very upsetting incident for the woman and we are keen to trace the men described or speak to anyone who knows who they are and where they might be.
“Our enquiries so far suggest there were two women passing by at the time and they may have vital information that could help with our investigation and we are asking them to get in touch.
“In addition, if you have private CCTV or were driving in the area and have dash-cam that could assist officers, then please contact us.”
