Woman dies after crash on the A98 near Buckie
A woman has died following a crash involving two cars on the A98 near Buckie on Tuesday, 14 January, 2025.
The incident happened around 12.25pm and involved an HGV lorry and a red Nissan Micra.
The driver of the Micra, a 78-year-old woman, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, however died on Friday, 17 January, 2025.
The 58-year-old male HGV driver was uninjured. He was later arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
The A98 was closed for around 12 hours to allow crash scene investigators to carry out enquiries and reopened at 12.20am on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025.
Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and they have asked for privacy at this sad time.
"Enquiries remain ongoing as we work to establish how this collision happened. Anyone with information or dash-cam footage should get in contact, no matter how insignificant it may seem."
