More than a million pounds worth of drugs seized

Officers have seized drugs worth more than £1.6M in operations in Stirling and the Black Isle. 

Four men have been arrested. 

Around 9am on Tuesday, 28 January, 2025, officers stopped a vehicle in Mount High, Balblair, near the Black Isle and recovered cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £600,000. Two men, aged 29 and 33, have been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. They are due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025. 

Detective Superintendent Brian Geddes said: “This recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities. Our officers are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated in our local areas and addressing the concerns of local people.” 

Later that day, around 4pm, officers entered a property on Forth Street, Stirling and recovered approximately 1,400 cannabis plants worth an estimated street value £1M. Two men, aged 24 and 29, have been arrested in connection with the seizure. They are due to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025. 

Chief Inspector Kat Thompson: “Tackling drugs remains one of our top priorities and this operation highlights our commitment to eradicating them from our communities. We will use all available tools to combat this activity, but we cannot do it alone. We rely on the support and cooperation from the public and we encourage anyone with information or concerns about drugs to get in touch with us.”
