Man jailed for 13 years for sexual offences in Argyll and Bute
A 72-year-old man has been jailed for non-recent serious sexual offences involving several woman and girls that took place throughout Argyll and Bute.
Malcolm Sloss was found guilty of six serious sexual assaults, one sexual assault, and other sexual offences, following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow. He was convicted on Friday, 1 November, 2024.
His offending happened on various occasions between 1988 and 2021.
Sloss was sentenced to 13 years in prison at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, 10 January, 2025.
Detective Inspector Peter MacMillan said: “Sloss preyed on vulnerable females for a number of years and subjected his victims to horrific sexual assaults. He will now face the consequences of his actions.
“Police Scotland takes all reports of violence and sexual crime extremely seriously. We have specialist officers to listen and support those who have experienced this kind of crime.
“I would urge anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to please come forward and make a report to us, no matter the passage of time.”
