Man found guilty of murder in Hamilton
A 66-year-old man from Lanarkshire has been found guilty of murder at the High Court in Glasgow.
On Saturday, 18 February 2023, police responded to a report a woman had died at an address in Hamilton Park North in Hamilton.
Officers attended and subsequently arrested and charged Walter Buchanan in connection with death of his wife, Darrell. She was aged 37 and from Kenya.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
Detective Sergeant Ian Evans said: "There is no doubt that this is an extremely difficult and traumatic time for Darrell's family. They live each day without her and are devastated by what has happened. He is now being held responsible and I sincerely hope Darrell's family feels some sense of justice at the court outcome today.
"We remain committed to fighting domestic abuse at every level. I would encourage anyone who is suffering at the hands of an abuser to contact us, we will support you and do everything we can to ensure the perpetrator is held to account."
