Death of man following road crash on Beith Road, Johnstone

An 85-year-old man has died in hospital following a road crash on Beith Road, Johnstone on Sunday, 29 December, 2024.

The crash took place around 8.30am and involved a red Toyota Corolla and a pedestrian.

The 85-year-old pedestrian who was injured as a result of the crash, died within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Tuesday, 31 December, 2024. He can be named as John Allan.

Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with John’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries into the crash are continuing. I would appeal to anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact us through 101 quoting incident number 0814 of 29 December, 2024.”
