Appeal for information following dog attack in Hawick
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after a woman and a child were injured by a dog in Hawick.
Around 3pm on Saturday, 4 January, 2025, a 35-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy were walking in the Wilson Drive area when they were attacked from behind by a brown and tan Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog.
The child received facial injuries as a result of the attack, whilst the woman suffered an arm injury.
The dog was last seen heading towards Chay Blyth Place.
The woman and child were both taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have information that could help identify the owner of the dog responsible, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1789 of Saturday, 4 January, 2025.
