Appeal following a serious assault on Main Street, Bothwell

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Bothwell on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025.

Around 12.55pm a 36-year-old man was walking on the footpath near to Main Street, Bothwell when he was approached by two men and assaulted.

He attended at hospital for treatment and was later released.

The suspects are described as being in their late 20s to early 30s and one was carrying a white carrier bag.

Detective Constable Ross Kirkland said: “Since this assault was reported to police on Wednesday, 22 January, we have been carrying out enquiries to establish more detail and establish the full circumstances. This has included reviewing CCTV footage from in and around the area.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the Main Street area around the time of the attack who has any information to please contact us. I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage which may assist to get in touch.”
