Man sentenced for serious assault of police officer in Aberdeen
A man has been sentenced to five months in prison for the serious assault of a police officer in Aberdeen.
Dylon Guyan, 19, carried out the attack on Auchinyell Road, Aberdeen, on Sunday, 30 June, 2024, when officers responded to a report of concern for a person.
He pled guilty on Wednesday, 9 January, 2025, and was sentenced at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, 21 February, 2025.
Inspector Paul Hammond said: "Dylon Guyan violently assaulted an on-duty officer, resulting in hospitalisation. Such attacks on police officers who are carrying out their duties are completely unacceptable.
"Police officers put themselves in harm's way to keep the public safe, and any violence toward them will not be tolerated. We will continue to take robust action against anyone who assaults our officers."
