Appeal following wilful fire on Arbroath Road in Forfar

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a wilful fire-raising at a derelict building in Forfar.

Around 5pm on Thursday, 27 February, 2025, we were called to a report of a fire at the Gables, in Arbroath Road.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Enquiries are ongoing but we have established the fire was started deliberately.

Constable Craig Savage said: “Fortunately no one was injured but extensive damage was caused by the fire.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something suspicious.

“If anyone has dash-cam footage from around the time, please review it to see if you have captured anything which could help our investigation."
