Appeal following serious crash in Irvine
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Irvine.
The incident happened around 3.10pm on Monday, 24 February, on Eglinton Street.
It involved a white Mini Cooper Clubman and a pedestrian, a 77-year-old man.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to Crosshouse University Hospital where his condition is described as serious. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened around 7.15pm.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart, from the Ayrshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances, and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
“We are also asking anyone driving in the area at the time to check their dash-cam to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
