Appeal for information following crash on B6357 near Saughtree

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the B6357 near Saughtree.

Around 3.25pm on Sunday, 6 April, 2025, officers received a report of a one vehicle crash involving a KTM motorbike.

Emergency services attended and the 58-year-old male rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed from the junction at Saughtree to Bonchester Bridge to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened around 20.45pm.

Sergeant Michael Shillington said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died. Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
