Teenager seriously injured in crash near Newton Stewart
Road policing officers are appealing for information after a teenager was seriously injured in a crash near Newton Stewart.
The incident happened on the B7079 at its junction with the A712 Newton Stewart to New Galloway Road around 5.05pm on Wednesday, 11 September.
The 17-year-old female driver of a white Audi A1 car was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.
A 15-year-old passenger from the car was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and was discharged without injury.
The occupants of the other two vehicles – a blue MAN lorry and a silver Renault Clio – were uninjured.
The road was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Constable Liza Murdoch, of the Dumfries & Galloway Road Policing Unit, said: “Enquiries into the cause of this crash are ongoing.
“I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dashcam footage, to get touch.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2696 of 11 September, 2024.”
