Man sentenced for sexual abuse of woman and children
A 59-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the sexual abuse of women and children.
Derek Salmond Lamond from Fife was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 4 September, 2024, and placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
He was previously found guilty of the offences which were committed against women and children aged between four and 26 years at various addresses in Fife between 1995 and 2016.
Detective Constable Emma Moyes said: “Derek Lamond will now face the consequences of his appalling and predatory behaviour. We thank the victims in this case for coming forward and their determination throughout the investigation.
“Police Scotland are committed to investigating abuse whether that be sexual or physical regardless of when these crimes were committed, and we will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to ensure that offenders are brought to justice.”
