Appeal for information following wilful vehicle fire in Cumbernauld

Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful vehicle fire in Cumbernauld.

Around 9.45pm on Saturday, 28 September, 2024, a car was deliberately set on fire on Hornbeam Road.

The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.

Detectives are keen to trace two men seen in the area at the time carrying a fuel can.

Detective Constable David Williamson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3777 of 28 September. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
