Appeal for information following fatal crash on M74

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the M74.

The crash happened around 6.40pm on Friday, 27 September, 2024 near junction 13, Abington involving a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a blue Ford Focus car.

Emergency services attended, however a 45-year-old man, the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car did not require medical treatment.

Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3097 of 27 September, 2024.
