Appeal for information following attempted armed robbery in Inverness
Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery in Inverness.
Around 9pm on Friday, 13 September, 2024 a man approached a vehicle on Lochalsh Road and threatened the driver with what was believed to be a firearm.
The driver left the scene and there were no injuries.
Officers, including armed response, attended and a search of the area was carried out.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace the man. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, and was wearing a dark coloured rain jacket with the hood up and a grey coloured scarf covering his face.
Detective Constable Pamela Dugdale said: “I’d like to reassure the public, we have extra patrols in the area for reassurance and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.
“As we continue to try to trace this man, I’d ask for any information which may assist. Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened or anyone acting suspiciously? Do you have dashcam footage or private CCTV which may have captured something of significance? If you do, please get in touch.”
