Appeal for information after bales of hay set on fire near Heiton
Officers are appealing for information after bales of hay were set on fire in a field by the A698 near Heiton.
The incident happened around 11.55am on Sunday, 1 September, 2024.
The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Sergeant Stephen Granger said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us.
“We also ask any motorists in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1737 of 1 September, 2024.”
