Appeal following crash in Cumbernauld
Police are appealing for information following a crash involving two vehicles in Cumbernauld.
The incident happened around 1.50pm on Wednesday, 25 September, 2024 on Mollins Road, Cumbernauld and involved a grey Vauxhall Grandland and a Scania XT road sweeper.
Emergency services attended and the 26-year-old male driver of the Grandland was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.
The driver of the road sweeper was not injured.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow investigations to be carried out.
Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who has dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
