Appeal following attempted murder of man in Greenock

Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 60-year-old man in Greenock.

The incident happened around 6.30pm on Tuesday, 17 September, 2024, within licensed premises in Cathcart Street, Greenock.

The 60-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where medical staff describe his condition as serious.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: "The family of the man are being supported by police and being kept up to date with the ongoing investigation. I am appealing to anyone that can help with our investigation to come forward.

"We believe there were a number of people within the premises at the time and I would appeal to anyone who was there on Tuesday night to speak to us if you have not already done so."
