Appeal after two people seriously injured in Irvine crash
Road Policing Officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Irvine on Thursday, 26 September, 2024.
Around 1.35pm, a red Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a tree on Towerlands Road, between B7081 Main Street in Dreghorn and Heatherstane Way, Irvine.
The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where is described as being in a critical but stable condition. The passenger, a 27-year-old woman, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock with serious injuries.
The road was closed for around six hours.
Sergeant Brian Simpson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident. I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, stopped to assist, or who has any information that may help us to please contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving on Towerlands Road round the time to review any dashcam footage and get in touch if it holds anything relevant.
