Two men jailed after cannabis cultivation worth £1.7 million recovered in Dundee
Two men have been jailed after pleading guilty to drugs offences following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation worth an estimated £1.7 million in Dundee.
On Monday, 8 January, 2024, officers executed search warrants in Lorne Street and Ash Street where approximately 3000 cannabis plants were found.
Indrit Saraci, 27, was sentenced to three years and nine months and Adiol Hila, 37, was jailed for three years and four months when they appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 1 October, 2024.
Detective Constable Luke Doogan said: “Drugs can have a devastating impact on people and this demonstrates our determination to getting these harmful substances out of our communities and holding those involved in their supply accountable.
“It also highlights our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.
“Support from members of the public is absolutely vital to our work and we would continue to urge people to look out for the usual signs of cannabis cultivations and report any concerns to us.
“We will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to deter this activity and protect our communities from the harm illegal drugs can cause.”
