Man jailed for series of sexual offences in Fife
A 32-year-old man has been jailed for six years for a series of sexual offences in Fife.
Darren Gibson was sentenced at the High Court in Dundee on Wednesday, 9 October, 2024.
The crimes, including the sexual abuse of women and children and domestic abuse offences, occurred at various locations in Fife between 2008 and 2019.
Gibson previously pled guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh Wednesday, 11 September, 2024.
Detective Inspector Calum Lawrie, of Fife’s Public Protection Unit, said “Darren Gibson will now face the consequences of his actions.
"I hope that this outcome will offer some level of closure for the victims in this case. I commend them for finding the courage to come forward and for their determination throughout this investigation.
“Police Scotland are committed to investigating any form of sexual abuse, regardless of when these crimes were committed. In collaboration with partner agencies, we are here to support victims through the process and we will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.”
