Man charged in connection with Oban drug recovery

A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a Class A drug recovery Oban.

Around 3pm Wednesday, 23 October, 2024 officers searched a property on Longsdale Terrace in Oban. Cocaine with an estimated street value of around £4,700 was seized as well as over £1000 cash.

Officers later searched a premises in the Glencruitten area and recovered a further £24,000 cash.

The 44-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences. He is due to appear at Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 13 November, 2024.

Detective Inspector Peter MacMillan said: "We are determined to protect the public from harmful criminality by disrupting sale of illegal substances, preventing them from being circulated on the streets of our community.

“Information from the public is crucial to our work and we ask anyone with knowledge about drugs activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
