Man arrested and charged following death of 36-year-old man in Ellon
A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the death of a 36-year-old man in Ellon.
He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 14 October, 2024.
Around 8.35pm on Wednesday, 9 October, 2024, officers were made aware of the death of Martin Forgie within a property in Gordon Place.
His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
Mr Forgie was from Maud, Aberdeenshire.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said: "Martin was a much loved son, brother, father, nephew, grandson and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
"We ask for our privacy as a family to be respected at this difficult time."
The 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries are continuing.
Detective Inspector Rory Campbell said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Forgie's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
"Officers will remain in the area while enquiries are carried out.
