Appeal after man dies in crash on B7076 near Lockerbie
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal road crash on the B7076 near to its junction with the A709 Dumfries to Lockerbie Road on Tuesday, 29 October, 2024.
Around 11.55pm, officers were called to the crash involving a BMW 1 series and an articulated lorry.
Police and ambulance attended and a 23-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 65-year-old man, the driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “We are providing support to the family of the man who died as our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.
“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on the B7076 around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist. Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us as soon as possible.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red car travelling southbound on the B7076 prior to the crash who may be able to assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4261 of 29 October.”
