Renewed appeal for missing man Robert Gibson from Banff
More than one year one, officers are continuing to see the assistance of the public in trying to locate a 74-year-old man missing from Banff.
Robert Gibson, known as Bob, was reported missing to the police on, Monday, 23 October, 2023. He is around 5 ft 7 in height, slim build and thinning, grey hair.
There is no last confirmed sighting of Bob, and it’s believed he was last seen around September 2023 . Due to having no confirmed last sighting we are unable to say what clothes Bob may be wearing.
Bob generally keeps himself to himself but is well-known in the local area. He often walks in the area of Duff house and is a keen fisherman. He is also known by local golfers as he returns their lost golf balls which he finds when out on his walks.
Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson said: “More than a year has passed since Bob was reported missing and we remain extremely concerned for him. Bob was known to walk a route along the River Deveron and extensive land and water searches were carried out with no trace of him. All other enquiries have also not found any trace of him. I would ask anyone who may have seen Bob or who has any information on where he may have gone to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call officers, quoting incident number 1990 of 23 October, 2023.
