Man who died in crash on Beith Road in Johnstone named

A man who died following a crash in Johnstone has been named as Gary Sim.  

Officers attended the single vehicle crash on Beith Road around 2am on Saturday, 9 November, 2024.  

Gary, 53, from the local area, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead. 

The road was closed while investigations were carried out and re-opened around 7.50am on Sunday, 10 November.

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

 “I’d like to thank the local community for their patience while the road was closed and also to members of the public who provided information.”
