Man jailed for sexual offences in Dundee between 2014 and 2021
A 51-year-old man has been jailed for sexual assaults, rape, and other offences which took place in Dundee between 2014 and 2021.
Craig Brett was sentenced to 11 years and eight month at Edinburgh High Court on Tuesday, 5 November, 2024, for the sexual offences, threatening and abusive behaviour and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He was also put on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a life-time non-harassment order.
Brett’s female victim was aged between nine and 12 when the offences happened.
Detective Constable Tanya Garland, of Police Scotland’s Child Protection Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to commend the victim for her courage and bravery in coming forward.
“Crimes like these will not be tolerated and Police Scotland takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and they are fully investigated by specialist officers.
