Appeal following fatal crash on the A70, South Lanarkshire
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in South Lanarkshire.
Around 3.05pm on Sunday, 10 November, 2024, officers were called to a report of a crash involving a grey Ford Puma on the A70, Ayr Road, Douglas, near the junction with Covenanters Way.
Emergency services attended however the 70-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for around three hours and 25 minutes.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
Road Policing Sergeant Jim Dewar said: “Our thoughts are with the family and the friends of the man who died at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the car prior to the crash to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around that time and who may have dash cam footage which could assists to get in touch.”
