Appeal following fatal crash in Bellshill
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Bellshill on Friday, 1 November, 2024.
The incident happened around 9.30pm on Crossgates in the town and involved a silver Ford Fiesta and a female pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and the 41-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the Fiesta, a 36-year-old man, was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and was later released pending further enquiries.
The road was closed and re-opened around 4am on Saturday, 2 November, 2024.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. If you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”
