Man named following fatal crash on Greenfaulds Road, Cumbernauld
A pedestrian who died following a road crash on Greenfaulds Road, Cumbernauld has been named.
The incident happened around 8.10am on Sunday, 26 May, 2024 and involved a black Citroen C4.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 49-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by ambulance where he later died. He has been named as William Henderson from Cumbernauld.
The driver of the Citroen was uninjured.
Sergeant Chris McColm of Lanarkshire Road Policing said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Henderson at what is a very difficult time.
“We would reappeal to anyone who saw what happened or who stopped to assist at the scene. I would also be keen to speak to anyone with dash-cam footage as it may hold information that is relevant to our investigation.
“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1067 of Sunday, 26 May, 2024.”
