Appeal for information following serious assault in Murroch Avenue, Dumbarton
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault which occurred in Dumbarton on the morning of Thursday, 16 May, 2024.
Around 10.30am a 30-year-old man was walking in a field behind Murroch Avenue when he was approached by a person who approached him from behind and assaulted him.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to stab wounds. Medical staff describe his condition as serious.
Detective Constable John Pryde said: “The victim did not see the person who assaulted him and enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the surrounding area at the time and noticed anything suspicious to please get in touch.
