Appeal for information after vehicle fire in Kilbirnie
Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire in Kilbirnie.
Around 2.05am on Friday, 24 May, 2024 a pick-up style van was deliberately set alight at Milton Park.
Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.
Officers are keen to trace a red Ford Fiesta seen on the street at the time of the fire. The car was seen to drive off at speed onto Townhead, Kilbirnie.
The incident is being treated as wilful and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Daniel Small said: “The fire caused the vehicle to roll, only narrowly missing other parked car and properties.
“I’d urge anyone with information about what happened to speak to officers.
“Perhaps you were in the Milton Park area at the time and saw something suspicious? Do you have private CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured something of significance?
“Anyone who thinks they have information which could assist with our enquiries is asked to please get in touch.”
