Appeal following serious crash on the A96 near Nairn
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a two-vehicle crash on the A96 at the junction with Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm near Nairn.
The incident happened around 3pm on Tuesday, 28 May, and involved a white Dacia Sandero and a green Renault Master van.
Emergency services attended and an 80-year-old woman, the passenger in the Dacia was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Her condition is described as life threatening.
The driver, a 79-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where his condition is described as stable.
The driver of the van, a 57-year-old woman, was not injured. She was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
The road was closed and re-opened around 7.45pm.
Sergeant Doug Scott of Highland and islands Road Policing said: “Our enquiries to establish what has happened are ongoing and we are appealing for information.
