Appeal following fatal crash on A76 at Catrine
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A76 just south of the B713 Catrine junction.
Around 10.15pm on Monday, 20 May, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec, which had left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the car, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed to allow for investigation to take place and fully reopened around 9.30am.
Sergeant Martin Cunningham of Irvine Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area, and who witnessed the crash, to please get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dashcam footage to contact us.
