House in Dumfries broken into
An investigation is under way following a report of a break-in at a house in Dumfries on Saturday, 16 March, 2024.
Between 6.15pm and 6.30pm, a property was broken into and ransacked on Tinald Downs Road, Dumfries.
Officers have been checking CCTV footage and a black BMW car was seen near to the house. Two people got out the car and entered the house for a short time.
The vehicle then drove off towards Dumfries Town Centre.
Officers believe this incident is linked to another break-in on Birchwood Way on Saturday, 16 March, with the same people being responsible for both housebreakings.
Detective Sergeant Kirsty Beckett said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time who may have seen the car or the occupants to get in touch. I would also ask people who have dash cam or doorbell recording equipment to check the footage. It could have captured an image of this car which could prove significant in helping us trace whoever is responsible for these break-ins.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3221 of 17 March, 2024. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
