Arrests in Stornoway for road traffic offences.
Following proactive policing operations in Stornoway over the weekend, two people were arrested in connection with road traffic offences and two people were issued with Recorded Police Warnings for drugs offences.
Around 10.55pm on Saturday, 2 March, officers stopped at 24-year-old man in Cromwell Street. He was found to be in possession of Class A drugs and was issued with a Recorded Police Warning. Around 3.45am on Sunday, 3 March, 2024, police on patrol stopped a car on McKenzie Park. Following enquiries, the 21-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
While officers were dealing with this incident, they became aware of a car being driven with no lights on. Follow up enquiries resulted in a 43-year-old man being charged in connection with road traffic offences.
Around 8.10pm on Sunday, 3 March, 2024, officers stopped a 29-year-old man in Francis Street. He was found to be in possession of Class A drugs and was issued with a Recorded Police Warning.
