Man sentenced for sexual and domestic abuse in Inverness and Cumbernauld
A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison in connection with sexual and domestic abuse offences in the Inverness and Cumbernauld areas.
At the High Court in Aberdeen on Tuesday, 19 March, 2024, Gavin Reid was also given indefinite non-harassment orders in respect of his two victims.
He had previously been found guilty of the offences, which took place between 2016 and 2021, following a trial at the High Court in Inverness.
Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo said: “Our thoughts are with Reid’s victims and we hope that his sentencing brings them some kind of closure.
“Tackling sexual and domestic abuse is a priority for Police Scotland and we encourage anyone who believes they are a victim to come forward no matter how much time has passed.
“Anyone with concerns or information should contact police Scotland via 101 or a report can be made anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
