Man dies in hospital following crash in Motherwell
Road Policing officers are continuing to appeal for information following a fatal crash in Motherwell.
Around 9.10pm on Sunday, 17 March 2024, a 68-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Puma car on the A721 Bellshill Road at the junction with Logans Road, Motherwell.
The driver of the Puma, a 24-year-old woman, stopped the car which was subsequently struck from behind by a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
The pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died on Thursday, 21 March. No one else was injured.
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries remain ongoing.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor, from the Motherwell Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are very much with the man's family at this difficult time.
"We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police.
"We're also keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.
