Appeal for information following assault on Lewisvale Park, East Lothian
Officers in East Lothian are appealing for information after a 31-year-old man was assaulted.
Around 7.05pm on Sunday 17 March, 2024, the victim was in Lewisvale Park when he was approached by a man who presented a weapon and assaulted him.
The victim suffered a hand injury but did not require hospital treatment.
The suspect is around 6’ to 6’ 3” inches tall, he was wearing a black zip up hooded top, black trousers, and white Nike Air Max trainers. He was also wearing a black balaclava with a red emblem on the forehead area.
Constable Gareth McDermott from Musselburgh Police Station said: “This appears to be a completely unprovoked attack on the victim.
“The area was busy with pedestrians and dog walkers, and we would appeal to anyone who was in Lewisvale Park around 7pm on Sunday evening to come forward.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2930 of 17 March, 2024."
