Appeal following robbery in Airdrie
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery which took place in Airdrie on the evening of Sunday, 24 March, 2024.
Around 10pm, a 20-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop on Stirling Road when he was approached by a group of four male youths. One of the males took his phone before assaulting him.
The group of youths then ran down Stirling Street, in the direction of Wellwynd.
The suspect is described as white, around 16 to 18 years old, 5ft7, with short brown hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.
The victim did not require hospital treatment.
Detective Constable Lisa McMullen said: “We understand that a woman may have witnessed this incident and we are appealing for her, or anyone else who saw what happened, to please get in touch.
“We would also like to hear from people with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area from Sunday evening which could be of significance.
