Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Kilwinning on Wednesday, 13 March, 2024.
Around 7pm, police were called after a 56-year-old female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a Ford Fiesta car whilst crossing Lauchlan Way, Kilwinning.
She was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where medical staff describe her condition as critical.
The occupant of the car was not injured.

Road Policing Sergeant Kenny Malaney said: "Our enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
"Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to get in touch. Lauchlan Way is a busy road and there would have been a number of people and vehicles in the area at the time.
“We are particularly keen to trace the driver of a car which was heading east at the time and may have information which could assist our enquiries.”
