Serious road crash on Crookedshields Highway, East Kilbride
Road Policing Officers are appealing for information after a serious road crash in East Kilbride on Sunday, 2 June, 2024.
Around 8.55pm, an 18-year-old man was driving a black Vauxhall Astra on Crookedshields Highway near to its junction with Crookedshields Road, when it appears the vehicle lost control and struck a tree.
Emergency services attended and the 18-year-old driver and two male passengers aged 17 and 18 years were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe their conditions as serious.
A 16-year-old male passenger was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
A 15-year-old male passenger was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where staff describe his condition as serious.
Sgt Stewart Taylor of the Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: “As our enquiries continue, I’d appeal to anyone with information to come forward. I’d be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, saw the black Astra being driven, or who has dashcam footage from the area around the time.
“Anyone with information is urge to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 3653 of 2 June, 2024.”
