Murder enquiry launched following death of 16-year-old in Glasgow
Detectives have launched a murder enquiry following the death of a 16-year-old male in Glasgow.
Kory McCrimmon was seriously injured during a disturbance at Greenfield Park in the Cranhill area of the city which was reported to police around 8.15pm on Friday, 31 May, 2024.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died on the afternoon of Sunday, 2 June, 2024.A 13-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 June.
Detective Inspector William Downie, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Kory’s family at what is a very difficult time. They have asked for privacy.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and there will be a continued police presence in the area. Extra patrols are being carried out and anyone with concerns should approach an officer.
“There were a lot of people in the park at the time and we are asking anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
