Man jailed for eight years for abduction and serious assault in Aberdeen
A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in jail in connection with abduction and causing severe life threatening injuries to a woman in Aberdeen.
Leslie Jackson appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 5 June, 2024, after previously pleading guilty to abduction, assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life.
The incident happened on 30 July, 2022, in the Kittybrewster area of Aberdeen. He forced his way into a property, seriously assaulted a woman and held her for 18 hours before she was able to escape.
Detective Inspector Andrew Machray said: “This was a horrendous ordeal that left Jackson’s victim with life threatening injuries. I hope this sentencing brings her some kind of closure.
“Jackson will now face the consequences of his unspeakable actions.
“Violence in our communities is not acceptable in any form and Police Scotland will work to make sure those responsible for this type of crime are brought to justice.”
