Man arrested following drugs recovery on M74 near Lesmahagow
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences after a car was stopped on the M74 on Saturday, 15 June, 2024.
Around 2.30pm, officers stopped the vehicle driving on the northbound carriageway near J10, Lesmahagow.
Cannabis worth an estimated street value of £500,000 was recovered.
A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 10 July, 2024.
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot said: "This is a significant recovery which will impact heavily on those involved in this type of criminality.
“This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
