James Campbell sentenced to 16 months in prison for fraud
At Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 18 June, 2024, James Campbell was sentenced to 16 months in prison for high-value frauds through his haulage business in Cumbernauld.
Between January, 2017 and August, 2017, 51-year-old Campbell inflated and fabricated invoices for services to companies throughout the UK for his own personal gain.
He was arrested on Thursday, 17 January, 2019 and pled guilty at Lanark Sheriff Court on Monday, 20 May, 2024.
Detective Constable Marco Shillinglaw said: “This was a complex investigation and we worked with a number of partner agencies to uncover Campbell’s crimes and ensure he faces the consequences of his deceit and dishonesty.
“We are fully committed to bringing offenders to justice and would urge anyone who has been a victim of fraud to come forward and report it.”
