Inquiries into serious road crash on the A9 near Skiach
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A9 near Skiach.
Around 1pm on Monday 3 June, 2024, police received a report of a collision involving two cars, a white Jaguar F-Pace and a navy-blue VW Jetta, on the A9 at Skiach at its junction with the B9176, by Alness.
Emergency services attended and the 81-year-old male driver and 83-year-old female passenger of the VW Jetta were taken to Raigmore Hospital. Medical staff describe the condition of the 83-year-old woman as serious but stable.
The male driver and female passenger of the Jaguar car were uninjured.
The A9 was closed in both directions to allow for collision investigation to take place.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I am appealing to anyone who was on the road at the time of the incident to contact us. If you have dash cam, please check the footage as it could hold images which could assist our investigation.”
